The AntiCafé

Pay for time. Eat and drink for free.

That’s pretty much how it works at AntiCafé in Paris. You pay depending on how much time you spend in the café, and FOOD AND DRINK IS FREE. Yes. And UNLIMITED.

Claire also does foot modelling

There are cakes, juices, coffees, teas, bread, cold meats…basically everything you get in a café. You can even bring your own food if you like (I don’t see why you would, but anyway, the point is that you can) And the tariff per hour isn’t steep either: between 2 and 4 euros an hour.

Along with your unlimited tea, there are chairs, snuggly sofas, a good wifi connection, a projector, scanner and printer, and board games for kids of all ages. The space is set over two floors, and has two little – more private – spaces. In their own words:
“We’re different. We’re so different from the others that we can no more be called a café. We’re an AntiCafé. An anticafé – a way to call an unusual restaurant in Russian becomes our personal name – The AntiCafé.”

In the evenings the AntiCafé plays host to salsa classes, film projections, chess tournaments and workshopsIf you’re intrigued by the concept, check out their website and get a 30 minute free trial. Free food and drink for half an hour, a genius publicity strategy.
